Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional braces. Let’s be honest; there comes a time in everyone’s life when braces just aren’t an option anymore. Obviously, traditional wire braces are available to all age groups, but busy professionals often don’t want to worry about picking food from their wire braces in the middle of a business dinner. Additionally, students may not want to flash a mouthful of metal at the college mixer.
Invisalign is an innovative cosmetic dentistry treatment that gradually straightens teeth using a series of clear dental aligners. Invisalign offers a way to get the straight, beautiful smile you’ve always wanted, with a treatment that is convenient and virtually invisible to others.
What does Invisalign treatment involve?
Invisalign treatment includes a series of custom-made, BPA-free plastic aligners. These aligners are made to be comfortable and virtually invisible, while gradually shifting your teeth into the desired position. Depending on your treatment plan, you’ll receive a new aligner approximately every two weeks, which will continue to move your teeth into place.
How do I get started with Invisalign?
If you’re interested in this treatment, make an appointment. At that appointment, Dr. Le or Dr. Hendrickson will make sure you are a candidate for Invisalign. If you are a candidate, then your care coordinator will take some simple impressions and photos.
After impressions and photos, your information will be analyzed by the dentist, then sent off to Invisalign for the crafting of your aligners. In about two weeks, your clear aligners will be sent to our office and you’ll be ready to straighten your teeth!
What happens next?
Throughout your treatment, you’ll have regular checkups (every three to four weeks) at our office, where we’ll monitor your progress and give you your next sets of aligners. Your treatment may last anywhere from six to 18 months, depending on your dental needs and goals.
What can I eat with Invisalign?
Since the recommended amount of time for wearing your clear aligners is 22 hours, you’ll have plenty of time to eat your favorite “difficult” foods. Just take out your aligners and eat all the chewy candy and popcorn you would like. As a matter of fact, most people take out their aligners while eating meals.
That seems simple. Is Invisalign really that simple?
Yes, it really is. We have straightened many smiles with Invisalign. Once patients start their treatment, they are sorry they didn’t do it sooner. Never forget a beautiful smile is a great asset to have!
What should I do next?
If you’re interested in Invisalign, call to schedule an appointment. We’ll work with you to determine your needs, expectations and budget, and help create a treatment that works for you. Your new smile will be on its way!
