Meet Gregg Hendrickson DDS
“Since I can remember my passion has been dentistry”, said Gregg Hendrickson when asked why he chose to be a dentist as an occupation.
After I graduated from dental school in San Francisco–where by the way–we lived through the big earthquake of 1989, I moved back to Las Vegas to practice dentistry with my father.
I have always had a love for dentistry. As soon as I was officially a dentist I began educating myself on the finer details of some of the subjects I learned in school. I’ve always said, “you come out of dental school an okay dentist, but to be a great dentist you have to continue to push yourself and learn new things from the best in the industry”.
Technology and The Office of Gregg Hendrickson DDS
Our office was one of the first dental offices to use safer advanced imaging techniques. We switched to digital X-rays shortly after I began. Not only was this safer for patients and our dental team (always a top concern) but safer for our environment (no more flushing chemicals down the drain).
Our office was the first to purchase and use the cone beam ICAT technology. ICAT technology is essential if you are a dentist placing dental implants. You simply must have a dimensional view of the bone in the jaw to place dental implants. I would not have dental implants done at an office where ICAT technology is not used.
There are many other areas where my office has exceeded the norm for standards. For instance, I use PRGF for some of my dental implant cases. This accelerates healing in the oral cavity. I also offer perioscopy. Perioscopy is a therapy for an advanced case of periodontal disease that helps patients avoid surgery. I am proud of the way we use technology to make dentistry safer and better for our patients, our dental team, and our environment.
My Thoughts on Continuing Education
WAQEducation is the key to staying current and learning new and better techniques in dentistry. It is important for me to continually improve the skills of my team and myself. As a team, we are always learning and striving to be a better dental team.
As a dentist, I am committed to the best care for my patients in a comfortable and caring environment. “My goal is to be the best dentist in the Henderson and Las Vegas area.” Continuing education helps our dental team achieve this goal!
Gregg Hendrickson DDS and Dental Implant Education
Early in my career as a dentist, I was fortunate enough to study with the esteemed dental implantologist Dr. Carl Misch at the world renowned Misch International Implant Institute. The Misch International Implant Institute is one of the most respected teaching organizations for dental implants and implant supported dentures in the world. Dr. Misch has left a lasting mark on the education of implant dentists around the world. I was privileged to study with such a brilliant man.
Recently I have studied with Dr. Michael Pikos of the Pikos Institute for Surgical Excellence. Here I have had the opportunity to study Implant Soft Tissue Grafting, Advanced Bone Grafting, Sinus Grafting for Implant Reconstruction and Complex Bone Grafting with some of the most talented dental surgeons in the world. Truly, the information I have learned at the Pikos Institute has allowed me to successfully treat even the most difficult implant cases.
Over the past five years, I have studied with Drs’ Frank and Jim Lamar. They have created an exceptional protocol for full arch restoration. Hybridge Full Arch Restoration is the best restoration for people seeking to have a full arch permanently attached to dental implants in their mouth. The Hybridge full arch restoration has been 20 years in the making! It is a restoration that is dependable and long lasting.
Diplomate American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry
In late 2017, I set my sights on obtaining my Diplomate from the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry.
The American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry is the only implantology certifying organization recognized by the American Board of Dental Specialties (ABDS). ABOI/ID Diplomate designation symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. Certification by the ABOI/ID attests to the fact that a dentist has demonstrated knowledge, ability, and proficiency in implant dentistry through a rigorous examination process.
On May 21, 2018, I received notification from the ABOI that I am now a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. There are only 500 dentists in the USA with this designation, only two in Nevada (including myself). ABOI designation distinguishes me from a dentist doing dental implants with no certification in dental implants. I have been rigorously tested and have passed the high standards set by the ABOI.
On Dentistry and Dental Implants
“I consider myself a very accomplished dentist in placing, and restoring dental implants whether it is one tooth or a full arch restoration. As a dentist, I have taken the time to learn and have trained with the best in the world. I’m not done yet! That’s why dentistry is such a passion for me…I love the work and I love to learn. Consequently, nothing satisfies me more than helping my patients be able to eat and enjoy life again.”
