I can’t tell you how many times I see “free dental implants” advertised. I am always disgusted. My goal as a dentist has always been to be honest and forthright. I know when I see an advertisement for free dental implants patients won’t be getting all the information. It usually means they are walking into a situation where they will be highly pressured to put money down or pay in full for a service they may or may not understand.
There are two components to a dental implant. In simply terms there is the implant, the piece that goes into your gums and the restoration, the part that looks like your tooth. So although you may get the dental implant for free, chances are the office will add the cost of the dental implant to the part that looks like your tooth. So in effect, you have paid for everything even though it did not look that way on your bill! Many of you know that when doing implants at our office we quote you a price for your treatment from beginning to end. No surprises or gimmicks. Just great, honest dentistry. I know we have all heard the adage, “there is no such thing as a free lunch” and it holds true even when consuming a service.
Make sure you get all the facts when you are shopping for anything and “if it’s too good to be true” than it really is too good to be true!
